Cape Town Life

Refund Policy

Version 2026-11-05 · Effective 5 November 2026

In short: if something went wrong with a payment (charged twice, charged by mistake, or you didn't get what you paid for), tell us within 30 days and we'll refund you. Rejected ads and apps are refunded automatically. In-game rand you've received can't be swapped back for money.

This page explains when you can get your money back for things you buy in Cape Town Life. It summarises section 7 and section 8 of our Terms of Service; if anything here differs from the terms, the terms apply. Nothing on this page limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act, 2002 (ECTA), or the consumer law of the country you live in.

Please contact us before disputing a payment with your bank: it's usually quicker. If a payment is reversed through your bank, we may remove the matching in-game rand, or end the ad or listing, and pause purchases on the account while it's sorted out.

How to ask for a refund

  1. Email [[OWNER: contact email]] with your Cape Town Life username, the date and amount of the payment, and what went wrong. The Stripe receipt, if you have it, helps.
  2. We'll reply within 5 business days.
  3. Approved refunds go back to your original payment method through Stripe, in US dollars (the amount you were charged). They usually take 5 to 10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.
